    Alibi, a cautionary tale about love and friendship, misunderstandings and consequences, the things not said and the right in every wrong. Dance and song in the intimate surroundings of your local bar, café or club.

    Alibi is a site specific work for informal performance environments such as your local café bar, club, or theatre bar!

    An evening of live music and performance, songs that tell a story of a chance meeting, intoxicating love and the desperate moments that unravel.

    Liaison is a site specific work created for performance in bars and clubs. Liaison is part live music gig, part dance theatre performance and is a sister piece to Alibi.

    Exciting dance, live music and storytelling tells an original tale of two intrepid friends Bitty Wicket and Shark Shoes, a magic text message, a journey of a lifetime and the challenge of a quest.

    The Quest - a specially commissioned dance, theatre and music performance for children aged 8-11 yrs old and their families.!

    A magician's box, a sweeping staircase, spotlights, mirrors and stars, Stevie and Emily's search for themselves reveals an imaginary life captured by the extravagance of live dance and music.

  • The Barnsley UFA Summer Challenge: 2003 - 2011

    Managed on behalf of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.

    A multi-arts project for theUniversity of the First Age aimed at engaging children and young people into learning.400 young people attended the event over two weeks, gaining themselves national accreditation. The project involved 52 trained peer tutors, 26 support workers and 17 arts workers working together to create a public performance for the end of each week.

    A Kick up the Arts!

    Run in partnership with Aim Higher, Doncaster and Study Support, Doncaster.

    A multi-arts residency to raise aspirations and promote the arts and creative industries as a viable career option for young people. 60 participants attended the week-long event which involved the group in devising and performing their own original show as well as attending seminars in employment possibilities in the creative industries


    Faking It!

    Run in partnership with Rotherham Gifted and Talented Network.

    A combined arts residency for the Gifted and Talented network, bringing together 70 participants from Rotherham to work with professional artists to create an original 45 minute show which was performed at the end of the week. The audience for the final two shows was made up of young people from local schools, who received thematically linked arts workshops in their schools the following week.


    DreamBlasters

    Run in partnership with Rotherham Gifted and Talented Network.

    A two-week Gifted and Talented combined arts residency. The first week was spent working with a group of participants from Rotherham schools to create and perform an original dance, theatre and music performance, performed to an audience of the participating schools. The second week involved the Assault tutors visiting each of the participating schools to lead workshops with young people who did not have to opportunity to take part in the week-long residency.


    Sound Live!

    Run in partnership with The Prince's Trust and Escape Training and Development.

    A 3-day music and performance residency with young people from Wakefield. The group worked with professional musicians as vocalists, guitarists, drummers, DJs and keyboard players to form their own bands and to give a public performance at the end of the 3 days.


    Arts Cool

    A Youth Prince's Trust / Assault Events initiative.

    Project Managers/Course Tutors for 'Arts Cool', an annual residential arts based summer school for young adults at risk.


  • Feedback

    Feedback was a collaborative creative arts project making participants co-creators and performers in a new piece of performance work, supported by using Facebook as a virtual studio environment. The project was developed and delivered by The University of Ulster dance outreach team Satellite, in partnership with artists from Assault Events, with support from the Institute of Creative Technologies, De Montfort University.


    Creative approaches to behavioural management strategies through personalised learning.

    Manning School and Creative Partnerships, Nottingham

    The aim of the research was to explore creative approaches to behavioural management strategies through personalised learning through action research undertaken at the Learning Support Unit at Manning School and covered areas including learning to learn skills, brain-based learning, learning styles and multiple intelligences, emotional literacy, developing empathy in young people and building communication skills. This consultancy culminated in the dissemination of the research to teaching staff across Nottingham and the production of a photocopiable resource pack for classroom use.


    Hip-Hopportunities – The use of hip-hop as an educational tool

    Youth Arts Network Yorkshire

    The aim of the research was to explore the use of hip-hop in education and focused on two main areas; the use of hip-hop as an educational tool and the potential within hip-hop culture for educating young people, especially those that are often considered 'hard to reach'. The consultancy aimed to share not only how hip-hop is used in both formal and informal forms of 'education', but also tackles why hip-hop culture successfully engages many young people with learning. Research findings were shared. Participants also had the opportunity to find out more about the link between hip-hop and education with examples of current thinking and practical projects both nationally and internationally.


    Action Research Projects in Personalised Learning

    Creative Partnerships Leicester

    A programmes of arts workshops focussed on a specific research question as identified by the school(s) involved. Research areas were identified to address key issues and themes linking to the school strategy and were then explored through the arts workshops.


    Learning Lab

    Sheffield University

    A project researching strategies and approaches to engage and inspire young people in scientific learning through creative workshops. A week long project in a primary school bringing scientists and artists together to engage young people in arts activities exploring science.


  • Youth Arts Consultancy

    Durham City Arts

    Giving support in project planning and development to youth arts groups and arts specialists in the Durham area. This consultancy lasted for a year and resulted in the successful delivery of six new youth arts projects.


    Creative Arena - Regional Meeting for Children & Young People

    Creative Partnerships Leicester

    Assisting in the management of a conference designed specifically for children and young people involving schools in Leicestershire This culminated in a day long event of workshops involving children and young people from 14 schools.
